Dr. Ned Smith is a prominent fixture in Kansas City’s field of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Smith graduated from Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago, IL. After two additional years of focused study, Dr. Smith earned a Specialty in Pediatric Dentistry. He then extended his education two more years as a resident in Pediatric Dentistry at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois while simultaneously earning a Master’s degree in Microbiology from Northwestern University. For the past 25 years, Dr. Smith has extended his focus beyond dentistry into the growth and development of advanced orthodontics. He trained under the nationally acclaimed authorities, Dr. Walter Doyle, Dr. Ruel Bench and Dr. Gerald Samson.
Dr. Smith holds both a Diplomat and a fellowship position with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is a consultant of the L.D. Caulk Corporation, a company responsible for the research and development of dental products. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Kansas Dental Association, the Chicago Dental Society and the Fifth District Dental Society.
Dr. Smith is dedicated to providing a caring team that values continued education and the latest advancements in dental technology. He participates in two acclaimed study groups and lectures regularly at Johnson County Community College’s School of Dental Hygiene.
Dr. Smith generously volunteers his time with the Mobile Dental Clinic during the Senior PGA golf tournament, providing dental care to children who do not have the means to visit the dentist and obtain quality dental care. He also donates time to Project Restoration International, providing expert dental care to children who live in Chernobyl, Russia. Dr. Smith is not only respected for his professional skills, but for his personal reputation as well. He was recently nominated for the third time as the “Kindest Person in Kansas City” (an award sponsored by “STOP Violence” a program of Synergy Services).
Dr. Smith and his wife Karen have been happily married for 46 years. He enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren. His hobbies are tennis, scuba diving, boating and fishing. The Smith’s live in Leawood and can be seen around town enjoying the local arts and sporting events.
